Liz is an enthusiastic, accomplished, and passionate teacher and adjudicator with a deep love for all styles of dance.
Raised on the Central Coast, Liz trained in RAD ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and tap under the guidance of Melanie and Amy Campbell. As a teenager, she performed with Gosford Musical Society as both a dancer and dance captain in productions including The Wiz, 42nd Street, Oklahoma, and Spamalot. She later worked as assistant choreographer for Camp Rock and Fiddler on the Roof.
As a young performer, Liz appeared in Youth in Performing Arts, the Shakespeare Festival, Dance Festivals, cultural labs, fundraisers, Quick Flicks, Central Dance Company, and short films. She completed RAD Ballet and has competed at eisteddfods across NSW. In 2006, Liz completed the International Baccalaureate, studying higher-level theatre arts, psychology, and biology. She was honoured with the NSW Award for Outstanding Contribution to Creative, Active, and Community Service.
In 2009, Liz moved to Melbourne to study a Diploma of Dance Performance at Danceworld 301. During this time, she expanded her training into Vaganova ballet, hip hop, Spanish dance, advanced acting, singing, dance terminology, notation, and safe dance practices. She also toured with the company to Queensland.
While in Melbourne, Liz pursued opportunities in television and screen, appearing in Winners and Losers, Killing Time (alongside David Wenham), Spit It Out, Words of Peace, as well as in state and national commercials. She has also performed at a variety of corporate events, private functions, and fundraisers.
Liz discovered a love for production while working with Central Dance Company Australia during their 2018 and 2019 seasons of Swan Lake, first as a rehearsal assistant and later as stage manager. Since then, she has stage-managed a range of ballets, productions, and concerts. In 2019, Liz worked as assistant casting director and creative consultant on the short film Green and Blue with Karina Russell. That same year, she also hosted a series of successful dance and musical theatre workshops for over 100 children from the Central Coast and Sydney, with a focus on improvisation and audition techniques.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Liz has worked with dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities – including neurodiverse students. Under the mentorship of Kerrie Smith, Patti Gleeson, and Leanne Smithers, she has spent the past five years preparing students for RAD exams from Primary to Vocational levels, choreographing competition solos and groups, and preparing dancers for auditions.
After overcoming a long period of illness, Liz returned to the dance world as an adjudicator – a role she approaches with deep respect and joy. She considers it a privilege to support and guide the next generation of dancers and celebrates the unique qualities every performer brings to the stage. In 2024, she adjudicated at both Dance and Dazzle Eisteddfod and the Campbelltown Spring Song and Dance Festival.
Liz is currently studying Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, combining her passion for movement and advocacy for safe dance practices. She is committed to empowering people through movement in all environments and is devoted to helping her students fall in love with dance, while becoming strong, smart, safe, respectful, and fabulous individuals.
